Store Manager
Full-time (32+ hours / week): $30-35/hr
The Brooklyn Made Store celebrates Brooklyn’s very own makers, with a mission driven focus of supporting small business owners who identify as women and/or Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC). The original location is in Industry City and the store is expanding to a new location in Downtown Brooklyn. The store is in search of an experienced Retail Associate for our unique retail concept. Ideal candidates will possess a self-starter attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage staff.
Store hours are:
Sunday – Thursday 11AM to 7PM
Friday – Saturday 11AM to 9PM

Responsibilities:
- Recruit new hires
- Train employees and manage staff performance
- Set sales targets for sales associates
- Merchandising and inventory control
- Manage loss prevention
- Aide in the creation of advertising campaigns and store promotions
- Assist with social media
- Organize in-store events
- Work closely with management to ensure store success
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of retail experience, with at least 2 years managing staff
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services to address business goals and needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention
- Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
- Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs required
