Staff Accountant in Asheville NC / NORTH CAROLINA

The primary responsibility of the Staff Accountant is to maintain and oversee the AP process. This person will manage the procurement process, vendor disbursements, month-end reconciliations and accruals. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented that can operate in a fast-paced environment and grow with the company. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all invoices have proper approval and corresponding back-up documentation
• Analyze weekly AP reports to ensure bills are paid timely and accurately
• Manage the company’s procurement cards, ensuring all employee charges are coded properly and align with the company’s policy
• Manage the expense reimbursement process and approvals
• Assist with month–end close, including preparing and posting general ledger entries when necessary
• Manage general ledger account balances and perform monthly reconciliations
• Perform data entry associated with accounts payable, this includes ensuring expenses and revenue are accurately coded
• Manage vendor relationships, collect and verify ACH/W-9 information
• Assist with year-end close, including the preparation of 1099s
• Assist with year-end and ad hoc audits
• Perform other duties and special projects as needed

  Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Knowledge with SAP Concur and Oracle NetSuite are a plus
• Microsoft 365 experience with a strong understanding of Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
