Sr Process Engineer

POSITION TITLE: Sr Process Engineer
COMPENSATION: Competitive Base + DOE

LOCATION: Houston, TX
SUMMARY: Lead technical design on process technologies in the areas of process engineering. Provide technical information and training to personnel in all disciplines to further improve product design and performance.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly interface with customers to establish a process system that will perform the required task and meet customer requirements
- Prioritize, organize and efficiently complete daily work requirements for ever-changing external customer inquiries as well as internal customers
- Prepare accurate calculations, some of which are non-standard
- Develop, review and update process flow diagrams (PFDs) and pipe and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for different liquid technologies.
- Respond to client needs in a timely manner with technically sound positions
- Proactively contributes to the continuous improvement effort of the product line
- Mentor Engineers to increase their skills and experience
- Calculate material and heat balance data for specified technology
- Calculate flow requirements and size piping and pumps in accordance with industry practices, standards and Customer standards (where applicable)
- Fill in process and materials data on equipment datasheets
- Conduct P&ID walk downs of manufactured technologies
- Validate calculations material and heat balance data, equipment sizing and equipment datasheet information prepared by other Process Engineers
- Utilize specified software, models and spreadsheets to size proprietary equipment
- Assist Process Engineering Manager in any activity/task requested.
- Achieve individual performance goals that are set by Supervisor
- Continuously improve our commitment to excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security performance.
- Other duties as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree required
- Minimum 12 years of technical experience within the respective discipline working in a refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, E&C company or related industry required
- Relevant design and field experience working with caustic/sulfur processes and technologies required.
- Specialized software knowledge such as Promax and Microsoft Office required
- Engineering background in refinery or petrochemical environments with an understanding of PFD’s, P&ID’s, equipment and instruments sizing, and development of basic engineering packages.
- Process simulation experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to gather data, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Able to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Position requires support to a variety of departments and levels within the organization
