Sales Manager – Pumps

POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager
COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + bonus + DOE

LOCATION: Ohio River Valley
SUMMARY: Sales Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities of the sales team to effectively execute sales strategies that will maximize sales volume, drive targeted profitable growth and professionally develop the sales staff.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand motor pump product line and applications
- Review process data, specs, and service conditions to support selections and quotes
- Provide technical discussions, presentations, and field support for customers
- Prepare and follow up on budgetary and firm project quotes
- Develop new customers across chemical, petrochemical, O&G, LNG, industrial gas, refrigeration, data center, Automotive and EPC markets
- Drive MRO, replacement pump, and Capital project opportunities
- Build, maintain, and actively advance a healthy sales pipeline
- Forecast revenue and maintain structured CRM activity (calls, visits, follow-ups, opportunities).
- Own all sales activity across Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, upstate New York West Pennsylvania and West Virgina
- Build penetration in underdeveloped plants; expand into new segments
- Strengthen relationships at all levels: maintenance, reliability, engineering, procurement and management
- Monitor and grow key strategic accounts while adding new plant-level contacts
- Eventually manage sales engineers and rep firms within the territory
- Set expectations, review performance, and enforce accountability
- Ensure reps meet KPIs: visits, quoting, pipeline growth, and conversion
- Identify high-value plant targets and create entry strategies
- Schedule and conduct plant visits, onsite meetings and EPC engagements
- Gather competitive intelligence, pricing insights, and market trends
- Maintain weekly updates on opportunities, quotes, funnel stages and revenue outlook
- Track account penetration, activity cadence, and conversion performance
- Regular travel throughout territory to plants, EPCs, and customer sites
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 years’ industrial sales, preferably centrifugal pump sales in the chemical and petro-chemical market.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
- Travel: Expected to be 60-80%
