POSITION TITLE:  Sales Engineer – Pumps

COMPENSATION:   Competitive salary + bonus + DOE

LOCATION:    Houston, Texas

SUMMARY: The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving technical sales opportunities from lead generation through quotation to final sale. This role combines technical acumen with strong communication and commercial skills to support customers, ensure application-fit product offerings, and maintain long-term relationships. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a background in mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, or industrial equipment sales.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with existing and prospective customers to understand their applications, technical requirements, and purchasing processes
  • Prepare pump selections, performance curves, technical proposals, and commercial quotations based on customer specifications
  • Manage the entire sales cycle — from inquiry to order — including technical support, pricing strategy, and order follow-up
  • Coordinate with internal application engineering and product management teams to ensure optimal solutions
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity records in the CRM system
  • Provide post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and identify future opportunities
  • Attend trade shows, customer visits, and site inspections as needed
  • Achieve individual and regional sales targets aligned with company goals
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify strategic opportunities


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably with pumps, rotating equipment, or engineered products
  • Strong understanding of fluid handling systems, pump sizing, and system integration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%) for customer visits, trade shows, and site support
