Respiratory Nurse – For our SNF Facility in Memphis, TN – Part Time (Every other weekend)

We currently are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Nurse or Respiratory Therapist to be part of our team! This opportunity will be for our SNF facility in Memphis, TN.

The Respiratory Nurse will provide and/or direct nursing staff in providing appropriate patient care. Additionally, the Respiratory Nurse is responsible for maintaining a positive level of interaction with patients, patient families, clients, coworkers and Broad River Rehab management to ensure an environment conducive to obtaining successful outcomes for all parties.

Broad River Rehab is a NC based growing therapy company (providing services in multiple states) which partners with providers across all settings including assisted/ independent and skilled nursing facilities to provide premier physical, occupational and speech therapy services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Optimize respiratory function for patients by evaluating, performing treatments as ordered and directing nursing staff as appropriate.
  • Perform prescribed treatments for patients.
  • Utilizing appropriate systems, accurately document patient’s pre and post treatment status, treatments performed, and progress toward identified objectives in a timely manner
  • Communicate results of treatments to the patient, patient’s family, facility staff members and other healthcare professionals as needed. Make recommendations regarding continuation, altering or discontinuance of respiratory related treatments.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on signs and symptoms of respiratory issues that could arise in patients and identify precautions to be taken.
  • Participate in facility meetings as needed.
  • May be required to also document any physical tasks as per Section GG coding guidelines.
  • Other duties within scope of practice as directed by supervisor.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with facility staff and all other healthcare professionals, demonstrating Broad River Rehab’s commitment to building effectives teams to provide optimal patient care

COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills/abilities necessary to maximize effective contributions to a team
  • Good customer skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record and adequate auto insurance
  • Ability to travel to other local sites when needed
  • Bending, stooping, reaching pushing pulling and transfer, lift and assist adults/children weighing 200 pounds or more with possible use of mechanical devices where applicable.

CREDENTIALS:

Must hold a valid state nursing license – preference for (RN), but experienced LPN considered, in good standing and must maintain this licensure status during employment or Respiratory Therapist License.
