POSITION:  McElroy Pipe Mechanic

LOCATION:   Houston, Texas

SUMMARY: The HDPE pipe fusion technician is the craft person responsible for the layout and fusion welding of HDPE piping systems of various sizes and configurations.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be proficient with all HDPE pipe welding and certified by equipment manufacturer or equivalent.
• Travel to sites for pipe welding projects.
• Must work in a safe manner and watch over all subordinates.
• Attending safety training classes.
• Follow the CQC guidelines for all HDPE pipe fusion work.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-10 years with hands-on HDPE pipe.
• The HDPE pipe fusion technicians must read and write English proficiently enough to pass the Basic Plus class at any of the reciprocal Texas based safety councils and all site-specific classes.
• All HDPE pipe fusion technicians must have and maintain a valid US driver’s license.
• All HDPE pipe fusion technicians must have and maintain a TWIC card and must have background screen results that allow plant entry.
• All HDPE pipe fusion technicians must keep and maintain valid employment eligibility documentation in accordance with form I-9.
• All HDPE pipe fusion technicians must work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations and pass all drug screens.
