WASTE TRUCK HELPER

Location: Bolivar peninsula, Tx 77650

Hours: 8 am – 5 pm Mon – Fri

Pay rate: 16.00 – 17.00

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist driver in providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
&#8226 Safely load waste by carrying bags and containers to the vehicle for disposal

&#8226 Assist the driver in maneuvering the vehicle by directing the driver from the ground
&#8226 Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
&#8226 Operate packing mechanism and various levers and handles to activate the lifting and loading mechanism
&#8226 Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip; spray and clean the hopper and truck, if applicable
&#8226 Follow all safety standards and wear the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
&#8226 Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings
&#8226 Reports any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
&#8226 Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner
&#8226 Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste

&#8226 Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies
&#8226 Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner
&#8226 Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, as well as the on the route and in the work area
&#8226 Perform other job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
&#8226 Minimum 6 months experience working in a fast-paced environment
&#8226 Exposure to working in all-weather elements preferred
&#8226 High-energy individual with a strong work ethic
&#8226 Ability to work in a physically demanding setting
&#8226 Attention to detail and good time management skills
&#8226 Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
&#8226 Ability to use good judgment to carry out detailed instructions
&#8226 Must have reliable transportation (Good Attendance is a must)
&#8226 Must possess basic mathematical skills
&#8226 Basic computer knowledge preferred

EDUCATION
&#8226 High school diploma or equivalent
