Fabrication Technician

POSITION: Fabrication Technician 

COMPENSATION:  Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION:   Houston, Texas

SUMMARY: To supervise the fabrication workers, orders, and resources in an efficient, orderly, and safe manner so that all of the operations functions of the fabrication department run smoothly.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make sure JSA’s are written for every job and reviewed by all fabrication’s employees daily.
  • Adhere to core values and ensure that all team members do the same.
  • Follow all safety rules, regulations and instructions including proper PPE, and enforce them with your subordinates.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met and maintained for all activities and retrain when necessary and annually.
  • Schedule the production daily based upon input from sales and shop efficiencies.
  • Minimize scrap and waste.
  • Train new members of the team and always look for new talent/workers.
  • Delegate and elevate key subordinates to work yourself into a true manager.
  • Participate in behavioral based safety program by completing Safety Observations and Near Misses.
  • Maintain good working relationship / customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, informing superiors, implementing corrective action, and communicating with Fabrication Production Manager and coworkers to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Fabrication foreman/supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems program is preferred.
  • A Fabrication Production Manager must read and write English proficiently.
  • Must pass a background screen. Provisional scores (scores of 1 or greater) will be considered at the discretion of management.
  • Must produce valid employment eligibility documentation in accordance with form I-9.
  • Must work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations and pass all pre-employment, post-employment, and random drug screens.
  • Must be able to work eight-hour shifts plus overtime as needed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and the occasional Saturday.
