COMPANY OVERVIEW:   Our client is one of the largest privately held industrial services companies operating in Canada and the United States. 

POSITION:  Director of Operations

COMPENSATION:   Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION:   Baton Rouge, LA

SUMMARY:   The Director of Operations will interact with sites, clients, and offices to ensure successful management of all Field Services functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company at an assigned portfolio of job sites in the United States or Canada.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the company core values are understood, implemented and practiced by teams within area of responsibility
  • Accountable for the overall implementation of HSE program and performance results for portfolio sites
  • Directs, develops, communicates and implements the company’s strategic goals to teams within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Leads directs reports in the development of a continuous improvement culture at portfolio sites
  • Responsible for mentoring and aiding the professional development of direct reports
  • Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards for designated portfolio sites
  • Responsible for profit and loss of all project sites within assigned portfolio
  • Develops strong relationships with client leaders across various levels of management to ensure service needs are met or exceeded
  • Acts as a conduit for clients to reach back into the greater organization for additional services
  • Acts as a key participant in all contract discussions, especially around proposed contract amendments
  • Identifies market trends and applications for existing and new technologies
  • Collaborates with peer groups to ensure use of best practices and share business-critical industry information.
  • Monitors and supports the pursuit of viable business opportunities
  • Supplies resources and training necessary to assess, screen and develop business opportunities and optimize utilization of resources.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15 years of experience in industrial construction and/or maintenance field required
  • 10 years of management experience, preferably at the site manager level or higher required
  • 10 years of experience managing direct-hire/craft labor required
  • Demonstrated safety leadership experience required BS/MS in construction or engineering preferred excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated experience in building relationships
