Demolition Cleaning
Key Responsibilities
- Site Cleanup: Sweeping, vacuuming, and clearing debris (concrete, wood, metal, glass) from work areas.
- Debris Removal: Sorting, loading, and hauling away waste materials into containers or vehicles.
- Demolition Assistance: Using hand/power tools (sledgehammers, jackhammers, saws) to assist in taking down structures.
- Safety Compliance: Wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks, helmets, and gloves, and adhering to OSHA standards.
- Site Maintenance: Cleaning tools, equipment, and machinery after use.
- Hazard Mitigation: Controlling dust through water spray and securing the site.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift over 50 lbs and perform strenuous labor for extended hours.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with or ability to learn tools like jackhammers, saws, and shovels.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety regulations and ability to work in dusty, noisy, or hazardous environments.
- Teamwork: Capability to follow instructions from supervisors and work effectively with a crew.
- Experience: Previous experience in demolition, construction, or cleaning is often preferred.
Working Conditions
- Extremely strenuous, often involving standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and working in hot/cold weather conditions.
- High-noise, dusty environments.
- Often on-call or required to work weekend
