COMPANY OVERVIEW: A general construction company that specializes in the fabrication and erection of steel structures. 

POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager

COMPENSATION: Competitive DOE

LOCATION: Houston, TX (Gulf Coast)

SUMMARY: Responsible for leading sales teams, new business development, maintaining and building client relationships, and contract negotiations. 

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Always represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the company''s “Code of Business Conduct & Ethics”.
Thorough understanding of the storage tank industry, its competitors, its clients, and the areas of work and competitiveness.
Develop new growth through effective relationship building with current and potential clients.  
Manage department of estimators to effectively produce quality proposals which meet client''s requirements and timelines.
Review incoming RFQ''s to determine bid eligibility of projects.
Work with Estimators to develop vendor / supplier / subcontractor strategy and oversee the relationship management with such companies.
Review and negotiate Terms and conditions with the clients to assist in closing the proposal or contract as required.
Review all project proposals with estimators and hold special bid review meetings, as necessary.
Attend project kick-off meetings to assist with transfer of information from sales department to remaining company departments.
Work with onsite and remote team members to push company sales agenda through various employee avenues.
Follow up with clients on bid status and lessons learned with intent of solidifying contracts.
Ensure timely submission of proposals within clients required time frame.
Develop new sales strategies with management to pursue additional revenue channels.
Research market trends and follow industry publications to determine current and future markets and growth potential.
Maintain good people skills and a positive work attitude to set precedence of enthusiasm and energetic atmosphere.
Identify Key Performance Indicators for the Sales department with Management team and report on these monthly.
Maintain CRM system and coordinate input of information as required from different people to keep it up to date.
Perform additional responsibilities as directed.



Required Skills:  

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 10+ years'' experience in the storage tank industry
  • 4+ years'' experience as sales manager preferred
  • Strong personnel and management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as good organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including:
    • MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook / Project)
    • CRM systems and ability to type adequately with reliable accuracy and proper grammar.
  • Ability to multi-task, and work on multiple projects in varying stages at a time
  • Job will require flexibility to travel to client offices, conferences, or job sites for purposes of bid walks, sales, and negotiation meetings, as well as to corporate office as needed
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to the storage tank industry.
  • Knowledge of API-650, API-653, AWWA, and ASME codes is preferred.
  • Bachelor''s Degree Preferred
