POSITION TITLE: Safety Manager
COMPENSATION: Competitive DOE + Bonus

LOCATION: Houston, TX 

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for the company''s Environmental Safety and Health Programs.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consult with Management on facility environmental concerns and waste disposal. (includes Wash rack Dirt, Oil/Water Separators, Hot Tanks, Used Oil, UST''s, Manifest Release Used Batteries, etc.)
Conduct on site visits with all Branch Locations on a periodic basis.
Review all Branch Documentation (Green Folders, DOT Logs, etc) for Compliance.
Lead development of safety meeting materials that address specific hazards for the company
Work with Managers/Supervisors to develop plans of action to control identified accident causes.  Report to management on control of identified hazards on a regular basis
Facilitate effective working relationships between Managers, Supervisors, and Safety.
Participate in senior management meetings and report positive outcomes as well as areas for improvement for the Safety Programs.
Meet with industry and insurance representatives as required.
Serve as contact for customers and regulatory agencies regarding environmental safety matters.
Evaluate and customize company safety training tools and recommend plans to Management to address the needs.
Develop an overall safety training and education program for employees to include:
        o New employee orientation
        o Regular ongoing hazard safety training
        o Supervisor Safety Leadership Training
        o Weekly Huddle Topics/Materials
        o Monthly Safety Meeting Topics/Materials
Conduct Forklift Certification for personnel.
Assist Supervisors in safety meetings by providing topics and coaching Supervisors in training techniques.
Monitor training activities to determine how effective they have been and report to management on needs/successes. 



Required Skills:  

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years experience in industrial safety 
DOT, OSHA
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills, including training and presentation ability
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Bachelor''s degree Preferred
