Job Description:  

Title:  Baker

Company information: A brand new artisan quick-serve restaurant based around pies and pastries. The restaurant is located in Downtown Brooklyn''s Dekalb market.
Position Description: The Baker will need to conduct early baking to ensure enough stock for the day In addition to baking they will also be responsible for managing servers. Starting salary is competitive with significant potential for growth as the company grows.

$25 - $30 an hour but willing to negotiate for the right candidate.

New Culinary Schools applicants are welcome


  • Manage operations in a food hall environment
  • Coordinate and conduct all onsite baking of pasties and pies
  • Assist in staffing, including hiring, training & scheduling
  • Train staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety and sanitation
  • Purchase and manage food/beverages/sundries/equipment
  • Work with food production staff to coordinate production requirements
  • Help develop new recipes and products
  • Monitor quality and production efficiencies with time & temperature documentation

Required Skills:  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baking and bakery experience - highly desirable
  • Culinary degree - preferred
  • Three years of culinary management experience - preferred
  • Previous experience managing cost controls
  • Desire to learn and grow with a new start-up company
  • Willing to apply necessary technology (e.g., kitchen equipment, POS suite, HR technology tools, including employee scheduling, payroll, inventory management)
  • NYC Food Protection certificate - required prior to employment
  • ServSafe Manager certificate - highly desirable
