Job Description:  

COMPANY OVERVIEW: Veteran owned and leader in providing troubleshooting, repair, rental and retrofit services on Commercial and Industrial Boilers and their associated systems in Gulf Coast regions.

POSITION TITLE:  Vice President of Sales

COMPENSATION:   $150K + Bonus Structure

BENEFITS:  Benefits package + car allowance

LOCATION: Houston

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  President

SUMMARY: Manages a sales team with responsibility of sales, inventory management, strategic sales and business development for the entire organization and its three LOB''s.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with business unit sales goals are met
  • Work with all sales department to assure sales strategy is met
  • Develop and direct sales programs, within company policies and established procedures, to achieve assigned sales goals
  • Assure all segments of the profit/loss statements are being managed and goals are achieved.
  • Develop annual operating budgets and plans growth both in sales and profits.
  • Develop short and long term sales and marketing strategies, plans, and budgets within defined regions/business units.
  • Maintain personal contact with major national accounts as needed.
  • Provide internal and external presentations as required.
  • Use pricing authority to obtain sales and profit goals.
  • Utilize team-building skills to continually improve profitability and productivity throughout the company.
  • Investigate and analyze market trends and competitors'' positions in the market.
  • Manage National Account program
  • Work to assure group is identifying owners, engineers, architectural and independent specification consultants to assure we maintain and build our specification base.
  • Work to assure staff are developing relationships with market specific customers on a national and regional basis to guarantee Company''s success in its targeted markets.
  • Provide monthly updates to President regarding performance of assigned regions and business units.
  • Build relationships with peers and other Directors to assure effective utilization of internal resources (Credit, Finance, Marketing, R&D, Operations, HR, etc.)
  • Provide leadership, direction and management to the sales team.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and keep the executive team informed on issues and successes in the sales group.
  • Develop, direct, and recommend policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of domestic sales including national accounts and distributor activities.
  • Direct the selection, supervision, development and evaluation of assigned staff; establish and model performance expectations and standards.
  • Work with all direct reports in development of people and succession planning.
  • Maintain memberships with various industry organizations and attend trade shows to stay abreast of competitors and changes in the industry.
  • Participate in ISO and Quality initiatives when required.
  • Develop short and long term goals for Company.
  • Develop Teamwork.
  • Improve communication with other groups in the management team to let the process work.



Required Skills:  

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:

BA in business/marketing or equivalent experience, Masters in business/marketing preferred, minimum of 10 years sales management experience, minimum of 5 years relative industry knowledge.                                  

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Accountable for overall profit and loss statements including working capital, inventory. Responsible for service throughout a region of the USA. .

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Requires excellent analytical capability, creative problem-solving, excellent communication skills, strong organizational/management skills, team-building, planning, presentation, industry and market knowledge, national coordination and cooperation with other key corporate departments, and leadership competency to manage throughout the company to achieve desired results.
