Position: Adult Education Instructor
Reports To: Program Manager, Workforce and Economic Development
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11226 (remotely as needed)
What Does An Adult Education Instructor Do?
The Adult Education Instructor conducts research and develops instructional materials and lesson plans. They are responsible for instruct adults in academic and/or nonacademic subjects in order to develop and/or enhance their employment skills. They will provide one-on-one tutoring and classroom instruction to clients to increase their chances of employment. They will also provide client support in writing resumes and cover letters, teaching and coaching for adaptive soft skills acquisition, conducting mock interviews, and assisting with job applications. Adult Education Instructors are expected to work collaboratively with a team of career advisors and job developers with the common goal of successfully advancing participants to employment. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
