POSITION TITLE: Operations Manager

SUMMARY:This role oversees all field and shop operations across multiple service linesโ€”ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while supervising frontline teams and coordinating resources with project managers. The position also drives operational excellence through strict safety compliance, continuous improvement, QA/QC collaboration, and strong client support throughout each project lifecycle.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and manage field and shop operations across multiple service lines, including refractory, corrosion, rubber lining and scaffolding
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and quality-driven execution of work
  • Collaborate with project managers to plan and allocate resources, including labor, materials and equipment
  • Monitor job progress, resolve operational challenges, and ensure timely project delivery
  • Supervise and support frontline supervisors, foremen, and field personnel.
  • Oversee scheduling, performance management, training, and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Enforce strict compliance with company safety programs, client requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, MSHA)
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Ensure all operational activities meet or exceed quality standards
  • Work with QA/QC teams to develop and implement inspection procedures, resolve non-conformities, and drive corrective actions
  • Support client relationships through operational excellence, responsiveness, and problem-solving
  • Participate in planning meetings, progress reviews, and job walkdowns as required


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Business Administration, or related field required; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Certification through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) preferred.
  • 7+ years of operational experience in industrial services or heavy industry, with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • In-depth understanding of industrial service operations, particularly in refractory, coatings, rubber lining, and scaffolding
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Working knowledge of safety standards, codes, and regulations relevant to industrial job sites
  • Proficient in project coordination tools, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
