POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager – Safeset Couplings

LOCATION:  Houston, TX

SUMMARY: The Sales Manager, SafeSet Coupling Technologies, has the primary customer interface responsibility to promote SafeSet product line within North America. This position involves technical as well as commercial product sales support, product selection, pricing and quotation development for our industry products as used in various mechanical power transmission applications.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain new as well as existing customer accounts, i.e., OEM, engineering/consulting firms, distributor and end user
  • Organize and host product presentations and technical application discussions in person and online
  • Collect and evaluate customer application specifications to make initial product selections using selection methods and tools
  • Collaborate with the product application and sales support team to create and confirm solutions, generate unit pricing, and project quotations, i.e., price indication quotes as well as detailed firm quotes
  • Coordinate with inside sales, operations planning and purchasing department colleagues as needed to communicate project requirements and deadlines.  The use of project kick-off meetings for more complex orders and subsequent project follow-up is a must
  • Provide technical product support and troubleshooting assistance
  • Provide sales and marketing information as required, i.e., develop business and sales plans and forecasts.  Assist in establishing and review agreed targets for the product line on an annual basis.
  • Support the global growth plan for SafeSet Coupling Technologies sales
  • Participate at industry trade events and assist with the coordination of marketing activities
  • Maintain all sales activities and customer relationship management through CRM program
  • Support other marketing companies when projects are of an international scope with either end-user accounts, OEM accounts, or engineering/consulting accounts which are based in the USA
  • Primary travel within the USA and occasionally to Sweden and Germany.
  • Collaborate with and support our After-Market Business sales team, sales representative and distributor network, for replacement and retrofit unit opportunities.
  • Be prepared to work the occasional weekend for travel or exhibition attendance.
  • Special projects assigned by management.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in engineering or business from an accredited college or university.  Applicants with a business degree should also have a technical engineering degree or related experience.
  • Experience in relevant Product Management, Application Engineering, Customer Account Management and/or Sales experience in the Mechanical Power Transmission Industry.
