Programs Coordinator

Reports to: Programs and Strategy Director

Classification: Non-exempt, Part Time

Salary: $25 per hour, up to 24 hours a week, position is through June 2021

Location: Remote Work through June 2021

The organization is an Arts based non-profit seeking an Arts in Education director is one of the borough''s leading nonprofit organization supporting artists and cultural groups in all disciplines. They are committed to serving the arts ecosystem through grants, professional development, cultural heritage programming, and arts education provided via distance learning. 

Position Overview:


The Programs Coordinator supports organization''s cornerstone programs, Community Arts Grants and Brooklyn Innovation Institute, with a mission to enrich the cultural life of the borough by allocating public funds and resources to Brooklyn''s artists and arts organizations. The Programs Coordinator is a driven creative administrator with superior attention to detail and strong communication skills. This is a public-facing position that requires project management skills, being responsive to the needs of multiple stakeholders, an interest in cultural policy, and a passion for supporting artists and organizations.  Candidates should be interested in the dynamic opportunities and responsibilities that come with distributing public funds.

Position Duties:

  • The Programs Coordinator will work closely with the Programs Manager, report to the Programs and Strategy Director, and collaborate with BAC staff, program interns, and volunteers, as applicable.
  • Serve as Programs Department Salesforce Administrator. Partner with Programs Manager to help develop Salesforce solutions, migrate department data - grantees, fiscal sponsors, presenters, partners - into Salesforce, and maintain existing data in Salesforce for organization-wide reporting, keep up to date with software changes
  • Support program development and implementation from ideation to production contributing to research, ideation, liaising with presenters, and payment processing
  • Coordinate web production details - branding assets, closed captioning, etc. for online programs especially on Zoom, Hopin, Instagram Live, and Facebook Live
  • Work closely with the Programs Director and Manager supporting the grant making process, including but not limited to: panelist recruitment, training, and payment; monitoring correspondence and general inquiries; applicant support such as technical assistance application draft reviews liaising; grant administration support such as information sessions prep, submissions review, and coordinating panel feedback
  • Assist with grantee relationships and administrative task
  • Other duties as necessary

Desired Skills & Expertise

  • Working knowledge of Brooklyn''s vibrant arts and culture landscape.
  • Service-minded: open, patient, communicative, and passionate about the necessity of engaging populations of varying cultures
  • Strong computer skills: Full MS Office Suite
  • Interest in audio/video production a plus
  • Database experience, particularly Salesforce or other CRM, and grant-making software
  • Detail oriented, strong communicator, compassionate
