COMPANY OVERVIEW: A service-oriented distributor of surface preparation, safety and environmental management products to industrial contractors.

POSITION TITLE: Procurement Manager

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary DOE

LOCATION: Pasadena, TX 

SUMMARY: The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the daily operation of the Purchasing Department to reduce costs and improve overall product quality.  Reports to the VP of Operations

Qualify vendors to include price verification/negotiation, product availability and delivery 
Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
Interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues relating to purchasing 
Review and approve new requisitions
Run reports regularly to evaluate dead inventory and possibly return to Vendor
Manage Min/Max''s bases on usages 
Oversee the open orders expediting
Manage product consolidation
Report POS (Point of Sale) to Supplier
Maintain vendor contact list in P21
Review vendor invoice discrepancies
Prepare and submit vendor reporting as necessary
Perform inventory turns reporting as requested/necessary
Ability to communicate with internal/external customers
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Perform any other duties as assigned by the VP Operations



Required Skills:  

Bachelor''s degree required
10+yrs Procurement Manager''s experience and/or training is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have experience Procurement 70M+ 
Must have previously managed 5k+ SKU''s
Multi-location experience a must
Epicor Prophet 21 experience strongly preferred
SQL experience preferred
Microsoft Query experience a plus
3M experience a plus
Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures 
Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures 
Experience and ability to qualify vendors (negotiate best terms, pricing, delivery, service and quality)
Must be a true multi-task oriented individual
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Excellent computer skills
Exceptional ability to analyze sales history and make quick decisions on purchasing
