Job Description:  

COMPANY OVERVIEW: A premier company leading field service and mechanical maintenance of industrial cooling towers for the petrochemical industry, power plants, petroleum refineries, pulp & paper mills, steel factories, mining applications and the food industry.

POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Turnaround Planner


Standard package 

LOCATION: Houston, TX 

 Responsible for working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Engineering and Estimating to create and develop work plans for execution during facility shutdowns.


Build work plans in Primavera P6 for Turnaround activities
•Work closely with turnaround schedulers to prepare, develop, and prioritize work orders to fit time frames required by facility management, review and include Risk Assessments, and have a constant consideration for safe work practices. 
•Participate in turnarounds by working closely with contractors and company personnel to assist with meeting planned goals and changing work scopes
•Generate reports and schedules for management review
•Assist in development of turnaround budget and cost control in conjunction with regional estimating manager, help set KPI''s and scheduling, pre-turnaround personnel and timely initiation of MOC''s as required by company policy as it pertains to work plans and upcoming schedule.
•Interfaces with other Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, HSSE, Contractors and other departments as needed to insure safe, reliable, and cost effective operation
•Performs other duties as assigned. 
•Deliver reports and updates to supervision through regularly scheduled meetings both during planning & scheduling phase and on through execution and start up. 
•This position will have weekend and overtime requirements as specified to the client

Required Skills:  

•High School diploma or equivalent required.
•Five years minimum in field services related work.
•Should be able to act as a salesman, be experienced in planning, and capable of running smaller projects when need arises.
•Must be seasoned in the industry.
•Demonstrate knowledge of basic industrial/manufacturing engineering techniques, especially as required in the installation and retro-fit of equipment.
•Should be able to read and understand drawings/ blue prints.
•Analytical ability and resourcefulness, as required in developing and implementing appropriate solutions to quality or other installation-related problems.
•Leadership and managerial capability, as required in leading and evaluating installation workers or sub-contractors at assigned installations.
•Flexibility and open-mindedness, as required to communicate with international aspects of the business, including resolution of quality or other problems on-site.  
•Orientation toward teamwork, as required to partner with other installation personnel effectively and to affect resolutions that are satisfactory to both the external customer and the internal customers.
•Oral communication skills, as required in interacting effectively with all levels of personnel and delivering professional presentations to groups.  Diplomacy is critical to the continued success of the organization.  Fluency is required in English and in Spanish or other South American dialects, as this is critical to successful installations in Venezuela and other South American countries.
•Written communication skills, as required in preparing concise, understandable business reports.
•Proficiency in the use of personal computers, as required in composing and comprehending e-mail messages while on remote installations, and in preparing concise and informative summary reports.
