Universal Display Corporation
, is a developer and manufacturer of organic light emitting diodes (OLED) technologies and materials as well as provider of services to the display and lighting industries. It is also an OLED research company. Founded in 1994, the company currently owns or has exclusive, co-exclusive or sole license rights with respect to more than 3,000 issued and pending patents worldwide for the commercialization of phosphorescent based OLEDs and also flexible, transparent and stacked OLEDs - for both display and lighting applications. Its phosphorescent OLED technologies and materials are licensed and supplied to companies such as Samsung, LG, AU Optronics CMEL, Pioneer, Panasonic Idemitsu OLED lighting and Konica Minolta.
Because of growth, UDC has asked us to recruit for a
Research Lab Technician-Vacuum Sublimation Equipment,
located in company''s corporate office in Ewing NJ. The position is on first shift (7am-3pm).
Responsibilities
:
The Research Technician will operate various vacuum sublimation equipment in UDC''s purification Lab. The equipment is designed to purify materials for use in OLEDs. The equipment consists of several components including furnaces, temperature controllers, sublimation tubes and several turbo pumps to enable high vacuum sublimation.
Tasks include:
Maintain sublimation equipment including vacuum pumps, furnaces, sublimation tubes and sublimation boats, temperature and vacuum gauges, and associated electrical equipment. This includes regular preventative maintenance tasks and cleaning procedures
Set up multiple sublimations and monitor the sublimation process with manual intervention where necessary
Trouble shooting of sublimation runs
Record and log sublimation procedures using a Microsoft Access database and hardcopy data sheets
Be prepared to work shifts and come in on weekends when necessary
Interface with other team members scheduling the sublimation runs
Assist with special projects, as needed
Required Skills:
High School Diploma at minimum; AA degree preferred
3+ years of industrial experience in a research and development environment, and familiar with operating vacuum systems such as semiconductor processing
Strong track record of high productivity in the design and synthesis of organic and/or organometallic molecules
Ability to perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience reading and interpreting general technical information
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with peers and management
Experienced in basic computer software and internet applications
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner
Demonstrated track record of accuracy and thoroughness
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of organic electronics is a plus
