Job Description:  

Location
3610 Tree Court Industrial Blvd., Saint Louis (county), MO 63122.  From Big Bend and 270, travel west on Big Bend for approximately 1.2 miles to Tree Court Industrial Boulevard.  

Position Summary
Perform inspections on inbound parts, first and final machined parts, sub-assemblies and finished product.
  Global manufactures medical devices requiring strict adherence to FDA regulations.  Primary job will be working with the machine shop''s second shift inspecting first piece and final piece of machined parts.  Will also perform receiving inspections, inspections and testing of sub-assemblies and final product.  Will perform calibration of measuring and testing equipment.  Will write non-conformance reports and communicate issues with personnel in a professional manner. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform accurate inspections and testing of parts, subassemblies and final product
  • Maintain inspection record in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform quality inspections for the paint department
  • Complete nonconformance reports
  • Communicate issues with others in a professional manner
  • Keep abreast of changes to parts and assemblies
  • Use uniPoint for recordkeeping
  • Understand, follow and enforce Quality procedures and policies
  • Any other activities reasonably related to a quality inspector position



Required Skills:  

Job Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma
  • Proficient using measurement tools and gauges common to inspection and testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of incoming and final inspection procedures
  • Good basic math skills working with decimals and fractions in the US standard measurement system
  • Able to read, understand and interpret drawings of parts
  • Able to use measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, and height, thread and plug gages
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of a BOM as it relates to inspection
  • Prefer candidate that is flexible to work first or second shift ((2nd shift has a 4-day workweek, M-TH) plus overtime when needed)
  • Interact effectively with all levels of the organization Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good documentation habits
  • Strong work ethic (good attendance and punctuality and high focus on productivity and accuracy)
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills and very good at working with others in a professional manner
  • Good time management skills
  • Able to work without close supervision

Additional Skills/knowledge

  • Previous CMM experience, a plus
  • Experience working with ISO/QS-9000 Quality Systems or FDA cGMP systems, a plus
  • Previous calibration and gauge control experience, a plus

Physical Demands

  • Some bending, stooping, and standing
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Frequent lifting of parts weighing between 1 and 10 pounds; occasional lifting of parts weighing up to 70 pounds
