COMPANY OVERVIEW: A leading industrial services company targeting the petrochemical, refining, and power generation industries
POSITION TITLE: VP of Project Management
COMPENSATION: $130,000 - $145,000 salary DOE + bonus + company vehicle
BENEFITS: Standard package
LOCATION: Houston, TX
SUMMARY: The VP of Project Management directs, manages and coordinates business operations for specific projects and implements the tactical actions necessary to maximize project revenue, EBITDA and return on assets. The VP of Project Management is accountable for revenue and corresponding profit and loss for specified projects.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees/directs operations management with responsibility for multiple customers/accounts, including P&L as well as business development
Acts as both a formal and informal resource to the President and other senior managers, providing input on strategic direction and initiatives as well as tactical issues.
Implements and oversees the successful implementation of short and longer range plans and programs that meet operations goals and objectives (e.g. growth objectives).
Provides guidance and recommendations to the President and other senior managers regarding the operating structure and actions/processes necessary to effectively manage current and projected activities.
Develops and installs procedures and actions to promote communication and adequate information flow within and among regional projects and project managers
Evaluates the results of overall and/or specific operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the President and other senior managers on an ongoing, regular basis.
Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with company policy and controls and local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Maintain accurate records relating to matters such as inventory, billable work, hours worked, services produced and purchased.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of construction management responsibility in a mid-large craft/industrial services organization, with the last 4-5 years being in a senior operations position (e.g. General Manager, VP Operations, Area Manager) overseeing multiple/large projects with significant impact on overall business results.
P&L responsibility of at least $100 million, during the last 5-7 years
Experience in industrial construction or related soft / hard crafts a plus.
Project management experience a plus
Proven history of leading with strong safety performance (e.g. low lost time/incident rates).
Candidate must possess excellent communication skills combined with strong business acumen to engage customers and to communicate complex ideas clearly, simply and convincingly.
Strong process orientation and organizational skills a must.
Record of developing and implementing pro-active solutions to meet customer''s needs benefiting the company and the customer.
Record of adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards. Must maintain a high degree of integrity.
Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines, while adhering to the highest level of Safety performance/standards.
Must have a working/operational knowledge of key financial and operational drivers for success.
College degree preferred but not required.
