Job Description:  
COMPANY OVERVIEW: A diverse general contractor offering construction and maintenance services in the Texas/Gulf Coast region.

POSITION TITLE: I & E Operations Manager

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary DOE + bonus + company vehicle/ allowance

BENEFITS: Standard package

LOCATION: Houston, TX (travel up to 20%)

SUMMARY: Provides oversight for, safety & environmental compliance, instrumentation and electrical maintenance, installation, preventative maintenance, training and mentoring, budgeting & forecasting, managing employee development and interacting with customers.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for planning and supporting all phases of projects including concept development, estimating, basic engineering, detailed engineering and design, procurement, and construction of new or modified production facilities.
Assist with identifying sales opportunities, sales and marketing strategic plans, and enhance business relationships with current project customers.
Direct, manage and coordinate all project activities to exceed customer expectations for the timely and effective delivery of service and systems.
Responsible for all control systems, instrumentation and electrical aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met;
Interface with other engineering disciplines/departments, customers and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects.
Generate, review and approve control systems instrumentation and electrical specifications, drawings and other documentation; assist in compiling construction packages.
Modify existing or create new process control systems procedures, standards and practices to stay current with technology and implement improved methods.
Directs teams to perform actual configuration and testing of control systems.
Participate in all preliminary and process safety 
Interfaces with other engineering disciplines, designers, operations, and maintenance personnel as necessary to achieve project objectives.
Responsible for cost and schedule within assigned area of responsibility.
Direct, manage, and coordinate activities to achieve individual project business plan goals and maximize profitability.
Direct, manage and coordinate safety activities to promote safe work environments. Oversee safety related training and reporting. Comply with federal (OSHSA) and state safety rules. 
Evaluate, monitor and report project operating performance data by communicating with senior management. Maintain accurate records relating to matters such as billable work, hours worked and services produced.
Carries out supervisory duties including; interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees along with addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
Follow company''s and/or customer specific practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design, and other deliverables.


Required Skills:  
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of electrical instrumentation, project management and estimating experience is highly preferred.
Petrochemical plant and refinery experience is required. 
Journeyman''s license is a MUST. Master electrician license is a plus. Instrumentation or electrical technology degree a plus.
Knowledge of and experience with instrumentation installation, calibration, maintenance and trouble-shooting along with the ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematics and loop drawings.
Knowledge of safety system documentation, automation validation, quality assurance, process control strategies and systems, safety systems and industrial control networks.
Knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of process control, low voltage electrical, and instrumentation.
Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to participate in multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering and design, and with internal and external customers. 
Excellent verbal and written skills, self-motivated, takes ownership, strategic and detail oriented. 
Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project execution.
Strong computer hardware and software skills.
Willingness and ability to travel 20% of time when job assignment dictates.
Requires strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees to accomplish strategic goals and related tasks.
