Title: TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Compensation: $60K-$90K + commissions + benefits

Reporting Relationship: Position reports to SALES Manager

Location: Houston, TX  Territory

Job Summary:
Develop Company business opportunities to increase revenue and profits through penetrating all levels of refineries in assigned territories. Maintain current accounts and cultivate new opportunities for the sale of Company products and services and seek out other opportunities to promote the Company and other Company services.


Essential Functions:
• Establish and maintain a strong understanding of how the company services support refinery processes and storage facilities.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to establish and refine sales strategy and set goals for assigned territory and/or accounts.
• Direct the implementation and execution of sales plans and ensure communications are coordinated within the organization.
• Participate in project job walks with clients to establish job scopes.
• Write proposals and close the sale.
• Achieve annual sales target based on measurable goals.
• Input daily sales activities into SalesForce.com.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to ensure customer concerns are addressed.
• Recommend new solutions and services by evaluating current customer solutions and identifying needs to be filled. Monitor projects during execution for potential problems. Maintain proactive communications with customers during project execution.
• Address challenging customer issues and manage customer expectations.
• Work within a team environment for continual process improvement. This includes sharing of ideas to improve sales, sharing leads internally, and taking an active role in developing marketing strategy and sales improvement initiatives.
• Work trade shows as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.




Required Skills:  
Education and Experience:
• BS/BA in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or Environmental Management highly preferred. High School diploma required. 5 or more years of refining/industry sales experience including basic knowledge of storage tank farm and refinery operations.
• Knowledge of storage tank maintenance scheduling.
• Experience selling industrial services and developing customer relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, including up to 70% travel out of town.
• TWIC card
