Business Development Manager - National Accounts
Competitive Salary DOE + Performance Bonus + company vehicle
Houston, TX; Baton Rouge, LA; or Benicia, CA
Business Development Committee.
A high level business development manager for the oil and gas business sector that fosters and enhances relations with high level customers and prospects. It is our desire to consistently build relations with levels of refinery management that we are currently not seeing. Provides input and is actively involved with all unit business development personnel to help them in their individual efforts.
Activities and Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management
Proper use of company data base of contact information from documents such as:
Exported email files
Company data bases
Provides timely feedback to management regarding performance of the business development effort
Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports as required by management
Personal Sales Effort
Utilize personal network and existing data to reach the highest level refinery manager or executive possible
Conduct Lunch and Learns / Seminars / Presentations as required to enhance relations with the targeted high level refinery manager or executive customer / prospect
Attends visits with Account Managers or Business Development Managers to determine the path forward to see the targeted high level refinery manager or executive customer / prospect
The primary goal for this position is to build relations with customer or prospect high level refinery managers or executives
Sales management activities will grow as success is observed from the personal sales effort. Ultimately, it is our desire the have the Director of Business Development organize and manage a business plan and sales strategy for each market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Sales management activities will include, but is not limited to;
Recruits, tests, and hires future Account Managers based on criteria agreed upon by management
Responsible for the performance and development of future Account Managers
Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines
Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective follow up of sales leads and prospects
Conducts one-on-one review with all branch sales oriented employees to build more effective communications
Support Branch Sales effort
Professional Growth and Roles
Willingness to travel to enhance relations with targeted high level refinery manager or executive customer / prospect nationwide
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics
Sets examples in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits
Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees
Perform other duties as required to support company''s business needs.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Refinery or Chemical Plant processes is a considerable advantage.
Experience in consultative sales combined with strong presentation skills is a requirement
Excellent communication skills required include excellent grammar, spelling, enunciation, succinctness and confidence in a group presentation setting
This position requires a strong desire to build new relationships with high levels of personnel, thus cold calling experience is desired
Bachelor''s Degree (ChE, ME or BSBA) preferred.
